Rain Can

Sure, turning on a faucet or hooking up a hose is easy, but with fresh, clean water being a precious commodity in most of the world—Dutch designer Bas van der Veer’s “A Drop of Water” rain barrel prototype is just the thing every backyard needs. Made from fiberglass, the gray barrel and detachable green watering can automatically fill when it rains. There is even a small tap at the base to refill the can as needed. Not only are you being resourceful, but the soft lines, the eco green and gray colors, and the clever raindrop shape, will look striking in any garden.—Blaire Briody
