Patty Bouley Bio
Patricia Bouley is an international design professional with over 25 years of home furnishings industry experience. Her entrepreneurial background includes the establishment of design businesses in both New York and Paris. Patricia is currently President of Bouley Design Inc. a New York based business that specializes in providing clients with home furnishing collections and product development suitable for every room of the house.
Patricia works with a number of clients, including Isetan Department Stores in Japan with Gear, The Peach Tree Group in London, the Ernest Hemingway collection, Oscar de la Renta, and numerous Bed and Bath companies. She has developed collections for textiles, wall covering, furniture, lighting, rugs, accessories, and dinnerware.
Patricia is recognized as a design authority, with a trained eye for good taste and timeless design. Patricia was born into a French family. Her in-depth knowledge of Europe’s cutting edge fashions, its museums, department stores, specialty shops, flea markets and design resources make her an expert in spotting trends and updating color. She continues to be influenced by her travels and was the first in the industry to do collections based upon her trips to Claude Monet’s home in Giverny France, as well as travels to London, Morocco and Russia as VP of Design for Westpoint Stevens.
Patricia’s creativity has long been recognized. Her work is part of the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt Museum of Design as part of the “Contemporary Continuous Pattern” exhibition. Her work is also part of the Rhode Island School of Design’s collection.
Industry awards include Cotton Incorporated’s “True Performance Award” for three Liberty of London printed ensembles. The following year, she was awarded a Tommy Award for consistency and excellence in design with a Robert A. M. Stern ensemble.
Patricia’s educational background includes a BS degree in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University. She has taken graduate courses in Furniture and the Decorative Arts at the Bard Graduate Center and is a frequent speaker on design and retail industry trends.
Patricia has taught textile design at the Rhode Island School of Design and has taught and lectured at Parson’s School of Design in New York. Patricia has been an active board member at the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA). She is also a member of the Color Marketing Group (CMG) and Executive Women in Textiles.
