Notes from Frankfurt

For starters, Driade introduced an amazingly beautiful organic white bone china collection, Adelaide, named after Adelaide Astori, one of the company’s owners, by Chinese artist Xie Dong. Basically it's a collection of vases, bowls, plates and cups and saucers that are totally handmade (i.e. no molds). The big pieces look like rock formations. Driade also has been working with Ron Gilead, the NYC-based Israeli designer who did funky plates and serious drop dead beautiful stemware. Word is that the Driade Miami store will officially open during Art Basel in December. Driade.it
