Solution: Wolfe designed an S-shaped stone wall that separates the patio from the rest of the yard. "Before installing it, the patio area seemed narrow and tunnel-like; the curvy structure gives the space a fuller feel," she says. The wall—whose 18-inch height by 18-inch depth is perfect for guests to sit on during an alfresco gathering—is anchored at each end by a flower-filled terra-cotta pot.
