Above the piano, Olson mounted a whimsical papier-mâché bird in a cage, or what she calls a "campy version of a candelabra." The designer replaced the original gold-cushioned piano bench with a shiny new black one that ties in with the black-painted walls, the mirror frame, and the sconces and chandelier hanging in the nearby dining room.
