Striking a Chord Doug and Cerrene only use the 15 1/2-by-12-foot dining room for special occasions, so Olson made it worthy of black-tie affairs. The main attraction? A dramatic chandelier (a Candice Olson design), its black silk drum shade trimmed in shimmery beveled mirror tiles that are reminiscent of piano keys. The oval mahogany table beneath is surrounded by scroll-back dining chairs. Olson fulfilled Cerrene's wish for a place to store china with a custom-built mahogany wall unit; it features a floating sideboard, which is 17 inches from the floor, and a mirrored backsplash.
