Candice Olson's Divine Design: High Notes (continued)
Our makeover maven amps up a lackluster living room and adjacent dining area with jolts of flash and glam
floor plan
In the living room, Olson moved the piano to a corner of the east wall to make way for an 88-inch-long sofa on the west wall. The faux-zebra-skin area rug is positioned to repeat the angle of the instrument; two channel-back chairs flank the center section of the drapery—which in turn hides a portion of wall between two windows, making it appear as if there’s just one expansive opening. In the dining room, a generous-sized table seats up to 12.
