When Every Room Says Romance . . .
In Boston interior designer Alina Apteker's home, every surface, fabric, and detail suggests romance. Here, the secrets to her sensual style
"When you come to my house, you feel glamorous," says Alina Apteker, with a nod to the abundance of white leather, furs, and crystal throughout the Victorian house she shares with her husband and three-year-old daughter. "Yet it is comfortable and approachable." Add to that description, off-the-charts sexy. Just one look at the parlor’s faux-fur rug and white leather sofa quickens the pulse. A zebra-patterned runner covers the winding oak stairway. Upstairs, a window seat has been turned into a master bedroom anteroom—complete with faux-fur banquette. It’s a house where every surface, one imagines wildly, would feel good to the naked skin.
