The graphic lines of Hering Berlin's handmade bisque porcelain vases add a modern touch to our festive mix: The HIGH vase ($310) features a thicker, more textured rim and finer detailing than its LOW cousin ($155; HomerDesign.com ). The hand-polished HIGH Estate spirit decanter from Steuben has the world's greatest lead content, which means a weighty feel and magnificent clarity ($900; Steuben.com ). The LOW Dorset decanter is also lead crystal and is produced in Slovenia ($99; Williams-Sonoma.com). Our scallop-rimmed Limoges porcelain plates come courtesy of L'Objet: The HIGH Aegean Gold three-piece setting is hand-gilded with three layers of 24K gold (salad, $150, dinner, $200, charger, $250). The LOW version, Aegean, is unadorned (dessert, $30, dinner, $34, charger, $84; NeimanMarcus.com ). Our HIGH flatware, Pegasus Aureus, boasts a gold-plated finish (5 pcs., $165), while the LOW Pegasus place setting offers the same sexy shapes in straightforward stainless (5 pcs., $72; Villeroy-Boch.com ). Design guru Andrée Putman crafted these Vertigo silver candlesticks for Christofle: The HIGH -- literally -- is 11 ¾'' tall ($600), the LOW 2 ½'' shorter ($490; Christofle.com ). Gayle Warwick Fine Linen provides our HIGH Whitework dinner napkins, which are handmade and embroidered with the highest-quality Irish linen ($125 each; GayleWarwick.com ). The LOW hemstitched linens from Williams-Sonoma are also 100 percent linen but have a machine-stitched design ($48/set of 4; Williams-Sonoma.com ). To serve in style, master chef Ferran Adria's El Bulli collection provides perforated spoons: The HIGH Straining Spoon has a 24K-gold finish ($302), while the LOW is matte stainless steel ($40; BlueCashew.com ). Porcelain pieces from Sieger by Fürstenberg's My China! collection round out our tabletop selections: The HIGH limited-edition Matroschischka egg cup ($390) and rimmed nesting coup bowls (from $95 to $370) are hand-painted in 24K gold, while the LOW egg cup ($130) and bowls ($45 to $165) are unadorned (Sieger.org ). For the finishing touch, Ronald Redding provides overscaled Cavalier silver damask wallpaper -- the HIGH features decorative grommets that create a 3D effect ($1,170/9-yd. roll); the LOW version, sans grommets, is a simpler, two- dimensional design ($65; RonaldReddingDesigns.com ).
