Cozy upholstered Charlotte chairs from Oly Studio welcome guests to both tables: The HIGH tufted seat comes in a dark-brown mahogany frame and is covered in toffee mohair with nailhead detailing ($2,350). Its undimpled LOW twin sports raw muslin and has no detailing or tufting ($1,300; OlyStudio.com ). In production since 1956, Eero Saarinen's iconic white laminate dining table adds a sleek curve to our space (35¾''dia, $1,409; Knoll.com ). The LOW Odyssey dining table, made from white lacquered wood and powder-coated metal, has a squarer silhouette and requires assembly (39½''dia, $199; CB2.com ). For tablecloths, we've used fabric by the yard: The HIGH, Modern Stripe, is a cotton silk that's woven in Italy (about $174/yd.; BeaconHillDesign.com ), while the LOW, Carvel, is a cotton-polyester print (about $30/yd.; RobertAllenDesign.com). On the floor, Mansour Modern's HIGH silk-and-wool Rhodes pile rug, made with all-natural vegetable dyes, is completely handwoven and -knotted, taking three to four months to produce (8' x 10', $8,800; 310/652-1121). Its LOW counterpart, the hand-loomed llama-wool Greek Key rug, is a less time-consuming flat-weave rug (8' x 10', $2,000; JonathanAdler.com ). The versatile, sturdy stainless steel HIGH Pumpkin side table can moonlight as a stool ($1,685; Autoban-DeLaEspada.com ). Its LOW sibling, Ethan Allen's Nickel accent table, made of nickel-plated steel and tempered glass, functions only as a side table (it can't support the weight of a seat; $389; EthanAllen.com). The HIGH Astor Champagne bucket from Calvin Klein Home is a weighty piece of flawless lead crystal ($165; CalvinKlein.com ), while its LOW look-alike, the Kenzie wine cooler, is simple handblown glass ($50; CrateAndBarrel.com ). With solid oak legs and drawer handles, the HIGH Chichester three-drawer chest has carefully matched, beveled mirror panels on almost every surface ($4,900; ConranUSA.com ). Ethan Allen's LOW mirrored chest, constructed primarily of mahogany solids and veneers, features mirrored panels only on drawer fronts ($1,049; EthanAllen.com ). For a light that swings, we've selected the HIGH Murano Glass chandelier, which is manufactured with 800-year-old forging and blowing techniques ($3,200; DWR.com ). Its LOW counterpart, the black crystal Calais chandelier, adds a similar graphic punch but lacks the intricate detailing and European pedigree ($349; ZGallerie.com ).
