Reduce, reuse…repurpose? That seems to be Randall Kramer’s motto when it comes to furniture design. In the midst of helping his girlfriend remodel her condominium on a budget, Kramer stumbled upon the Grönö lamp at Ikea, and was “immediately drawn to its simple form.” Using steel and wood, Kramer created his handmade “hacks,” which, all copycat issues aside, are really anything but. Each lamp is handmade from steel and wood, and utilizes many of the same industrial manufacturing processes that Randall uses in the fabrication of his other pieces – not to mention they are available in many different styles to suit a variety of tastes. We say hack away! (Price available upon request, KramerDesignStudio.com)
