Cape Town Wine Auction
Heritage Square Wine

Heritage Square, a property trust made up of the oldest buildings in Cape Town, will be auctioning four artist-decorated, limited-edition magnums of Cape Riesling wine that they’ve produced from the oldest fruit-bearing vine in the Southern Hemisphere (circa 1771). Christopher Durand, owner and winemaker of the label Vins d’Orrance, produced the wine; prominent South African artists Zwelethu Mthethwa, Paul du Toit, Richard Scott and David Kuijers made the bottles into mini-masterpieces. (We bet fine art has never tasted so good.) All proceeds from the auction benefit the Zip Zap Circus School, a local non-profit organization creating opportunities for children and crossing bridges in society through free circus and performance art training. The auction will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24th in Cape Town. Added bonus: International bids are accepted and encouraged.
