Japanese for “standing ladle,” Tate Otama is just that, a spoon that stands proudly with a shape to be admired. The bottom has been flattened, allowing it to be easily be set on the stove or table between dishing out bowls of your favorite soup. We love it not only for its good looks but because it helps keep the normal ladle spillage at a minimum while saving space around your workspace. Available in a set of lovely colors, this kitchen gadget is definitely going on our wish list.—Leah Konen
