I really enjoy cooking, and one thing that I have learned standing over a steaming pot is that there are very few things that aren't improved by a pinch of salt.

The bar area . . . I don't know whether it's the stress of my life or if it's just that I am getting to that age. But I find myself at the end of a long day, looking forward to a nice quiet moment with the day’s newspaper and a long cocktail.

Well it has been finished for a while, but I am finally getting around to writing about it, and by "it," I mean the nursery that I designed for my daughter Ruby Jane.

Well summer is almost over, but there are a few good weekends left. I am off to Montana for a well-deserved break, but my heart will be at the beach. An old friend of mine is toying with buying a home in the Hamptons, so I am preparing for what promises to be a great project.

I know it is the middle of summer and lighting a fire is probably the furthest thing from your mind, but I was going through some old images, and I just couldn't resist. A fireplace mantle is one of my favorite things.

Like anyone who is totally obsessed with design, I am sure you all have subscriptions to what seems like dozens of shelter magazines. I am always trying to find that perfect spot to sit quietly to read them.
