The Look for Less: Shapely Table Lamp

There were two things that impressed us about this IKEA table lamp. First off, $5 is a price that can hardly be beat for chic, functional lighting. And secondly, it bears a striking resemblance to a modern favorite, the Miss K Table Lamp by Philippe Starck for FLOS. Sure there are differences—Miss K features diffused and dimmable light and sleek lines that can hardly be replicated. IKEA’s version has a slightly chunkier base, a basic bulb, and is not nearly so luminous. So while the Starck classic remains unmatched, at just $5, the IKEA piece is a great substitute if you can’t spare the $288 for the original Miss K.
